Dear Coffee Lovers of the world,
At Agnes and Cat, we know how much you need your Monday morning coffee to help get you through the day. Coffee really is a life saver. But did you know that coffee is also really good for getting rid of cellulite? Neither did we until a few weeks ago when we start to test drive a new coffee scrub recipe!
Cellulite’s enemy #1 is caffeine, which tightens and provides antioxidants to the skin when applied topically. When applied religiously, it has been shown to reduce the appearance of cellulite—especially over time.
So we thought we’d share our recipe with you all as we’re definitely seeing results already!
What you need:
- 1 cup of used coffee grounds (you can use the coffee grounds from your morning cuppa). The reason they have to be used is because the caffeine (which is what attacks the fat cells) is activated once boiling water has been passed through it
- 6 tbsp of melted coconut oil
- 3 tbsp sea salt or sugar
- empty jar
- dry brush (optional)
How to make it:
It’s pretty simple, all you need to do is add all of the ingredients together and mix them up!
How to use it:
So our advice is to apply the scrub in the bathroom (preferably standing in the bath or the shower) because it will get everywhere (we learnt this the hard way).
If you have a dry brush, brush the affected area before applying the skin to get the lymph and blood cells moving.
Then apply the scrub to dry skin and rub. We’ve found that if you leave the scrub on for 15-20 minutes, it allows the caffeine to absorb into the skin longer, meaning better results.
You can use the scrub all over your body before washing it off in the shower.
Do this 2-3 times a week and you should start seeing results within a couple of weeks! But please be persistent and don’t give up with it if you don’t see immediate results. It all depends on your body type and how stubborn those fat cells are being!!
